Holiday Project
The Holiday Project is an exciting time (Nov-Dec) where donors like you make the season brighter for DePelchin children. Each year we have a large challenge ahead of us: not only to make the holidays memorable, but also to meet the needs of our children throughout the year.
Here are four ways you can make this dream come true for DePelchin’s children:
- Sponsor a child/teen by supplying items on their wish list. We have a limited number of wish lists so if you would like to fill one, email holidayproject@depelchin.org as soon as possible and we will be happy to send you as many children’s names and wish lists as you would like to receive. These gifts will go directly to the children you sponsor.
- Donate general items
for our children during the holiday season and throughout the year. We have a general list of items from which you may choose gifts to purchase and donate. In addition, these items would go to children who were are unable to submit a wish list.
- Make a cash donation. Cash donations will be used to purchase items such as diapers, clothing, and school supplies, as they are needed throughout the year. You can make a donation online or mail your contribution, marking it “Attention: Holiday Project.”
- Volunteer your time. More than 100 volunteers are needed during December 8-12 and December 15-17 to sort and bag gifts. Several shifts are available and any amount of time donated makes a difference. We need groups and individual volunteers; anyone 14 years of age or older is welcome. Volunteer slots are limited, so you must contact our Holiday Project Coordinator at holidayproject@depelchin.org to schedule a time.

The Holiday Project welcomes large, unused trash bags or packing boxes of any size. Donations of gift-wrap, gift tags, bows, ribbon, tape and batteries are also appreciated. We only accept non-violent toys. DePelchin will not distribute toy guns, bombs, military toys, or water pistols, or toys that imply violence such as military action figures, wrestler action figures, toys that are made to punch (such as a punching bag clown) or toys made to strike others (such as boxing gloves).
