Adrienne Tinder, Ph.D. Staff Psychologist, Autism Services |

Adrienne Tinder is a staff psychologistat at DePelchin Children's Center. She joined DePelchin in July of 2008 after completing her pre-doctoral residency at the Baylor College of Medicine. She graduated from University of Houston with a doctorate in clinical psychology with a child/family focus. In addition to diagnostic evaluations, she provides individual therapy for DePelchin Autism Services. Ms. Tinder is trained in implementing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), which is the gold standard in testing for autism spectrum disorders.

Dr. Alice Mao is the Associate Medical Director of DePelchin Children’s Center and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Dr. Mao graduated with honors from Rice University, completed medical school at University of Texas - Houston Branch and Adult, Adolescent and Child Psychiatry Residency Training at Baylor College of Medicine. She has a longstanding interest in helping parents of children with autism to develop comprehensive treatment plans involving educational, psychological and pharmacological interventions. As a highly respected authority of helping families raising children with autism, she has chaired Institutes on Autism at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association National Meetings.

Bianca Walker is the Director of Behavioral Health Services at DePelchin Children’s Center and Project Director of the Child Trauma Program, National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative. Ms. Walker oversees service delivery in Prevention, Counseling, Residential Treatment and Autism Services. She has 16 years experience providing psychotherapy to adults, children and families, and has a longstanding interest in cultural diversity and the adaptation of evidence based practices to Latino clients.

Carol Barrett has worked in agencies, acute care hospitals and schools with families who have children with autism since 1985. Currently she is a Staff Clinician for DePelchin Autism Services where she provides family therapy, social thinking groups, parent education and parent support groups as well as consultation with clinicians and interns within the facility. Ms. Barrett is trained in implementing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), which is the gold standard in testing for autism spectrum disorders.

Julie Smith is a Speech Language Pathologist with 25 years of experience evaluating and working with children suspected or diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. She has worked in various capacities in Early Childhood Intervention programs, public school settings and other agencies providing services to children with disabilities and their families. Ms. Smith is trained in implementing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), which is the gold standard in testing for autism spectrum disorders. In addition she has provided program administration and consulting services in the Houston area for the past 11 years.

Keisha Holley is a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow at DePelchin Children's Center. She joined DePelchin in 2007 after completing her pre-doctoral residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, illinois with a doctorate in clinical psychology and a specialty in child neuropsychology. In addition to providing psychological assessments for DePelchin Autism Services, she co-leads social thinking groups and provides family therapy to families affected by autism.

Lou Ann Todd Mock, Ph.D., L.S.S.P. Clinical Director, Autism Services |

Lou Ann Todd Mock is a clinical psychologist with over 32 years of experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. She has consulted with numerous school districts about their autism programs and conducted hundreds of evaluations of children with pervasive developmental disorders. In addition to having a doctorate in psychology, she is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.
For the past six years she has been a part of the Developmental Assessment Team for a local school district conducting arena assessments for three-year-olds suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder. Currently she is an Associate Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and is responsible for the child and family training of pre-doctoral psychology interns placed at DePelchin Children's Center.
Dr. Mock is the Clinical Director of the Child Trauma Program and Autism Services at DePelchin Children's Center. In 2008 she was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to be a member of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and is the Chair of the Board’s Written Exam Committee.

Rachel Halpern, M.Ed, BCBA Program Coordinator, Autism Services |

Rachel Halpern, an approved Behavior Analyst by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, specializes in working with children with autism spectrum disorders as well as their families. Ms. Halpern is a native Houstonian, returning from Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas along with a Master of Education focusing on autism and developmental disabilities. She is trained in implementing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), which is the gold standard in testing for autism spectrum disorders. Before coming to DePelchin, Ms. Halpern had been working directly with children with autism and their families in both the school and home setting for the past five years.
