Roosevelt Stacy became a therapist so that he could assist families in gaining the family life each member desires. To help them accomplish this, Mr. Stacy provides support, guidance and education to help facilitate healing and desired changes within the family unit. His areas of expertise include parent-child relationships; separation and loss; blended families; domestic violence, sexual abuse treatment; sexual identity issues; collaborative systems approach; and treatment for mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. Mr. Stacy has been in practice for 10 years, the last three of which have been at DePelchin’s main campus. Utilizing solution focused, strategic, structural and Bowenian family therapy approaches, Mr. Stacy works primarily with children, ages 2 to 18, couples and families. “My greatest reward comes when families no longer need my assistance because they have achieved the family life they’ve sought,” he says.
Mr. Stacy is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a Master of Social Work in 1996 and in 2001 earned his Graduate Certificate in social work practice with families and couples. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and recently earned certification as an approved supervisor by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. In his spare time, Mr. Stacy enjoys music, movies and watching the soap opera, General Hospital.
