Counseling Services

Counseling is frequently the most appropriate level of service for children and families facing personal, interpersonal, and social difficulties in addition to impaired functioning in the home, school and community. Counseling services may include individual, family or group therapy. The goal of counseling is to engage the child and family in an appropriate treatment or intervention, while maintaining the child in his/her natural environment.

Psychological Assessments

DePelchin offers psychological assessments to determine levels of functioning, including intellectual, academic, behavioral and emotional, as well as to diagnose childhood disorders such as ADHD, depression and anxiety among children.  Accurate diagnosis of the underlying issue(s) will ensure that the correct treatment or intervention plan is developed to best address the child’s needs.  Psychological assessments may include an initial evaluation followed by psychological testing sessions and completion of a written evaluation report for families. The length of time for the evaluation depends on your child’s individual needs.

For families whose insurance does not cover testing, DePelchin offers psychological testing at various price levels.  DePelchin offers fees for testing performed by licensed staff psychologists.  DePelchin also offers discounted rates for testing performed by a member of our psychology team including interns who have completed a masters in psychology and are working on completion of their doctoral degree in psychology or postdoctoral fellows who have their PhD and are completing their requirements for licensure in psychology  All testing performed by postdoctoral fellows and interns will be monitored by a licensed staff psychologist.

Psychiatry Services

For many children struggling with emotional or behavioral issues, the best treatment plan may involve medication in addition to other forms of treatment.  DePelchin’s expert psychiatry services support children and families with psychiatric consultations and ongoing medication management if needed. We are committed to meeting the needs of children and families and offer psychiatric services in addition to counseling at many of our satellite locations.

Autism Services

DePelchin offers a comprehensive evaluation for children beginning at 18 months of age whose symptoms suggest autism spectrum disorder.  Our multi-disciplinary team consists of professionals from diverse backgrounds and specializations, including psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and speech pathologists. Working together, our team of experts provides a coordinated assessment using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools to evaluate children.  In addition to providing diagnostic evaluations, DePelchin offers a range of therapeutic and educational services to support the entire family. Transitional Care for Families in the Military

Being in the military affects the entire family. While children benefit from the positive aspects of military life and typically share their parents’ pride in serving their country, they also share in the stress that often accompanies military service. DePelchin is here to support military families by helping children cope with the anxiety and fear that often surrounds a parent’s deployment. Learn more about services for families in the military.
