Erin Wiebe
Program Coordinator
"In 1998, I began working at DePelchin Children's Center as a Staff Clinician II in the Prevention Department. I worked in several Houston-area schools, providing case management and group services to 6th-12th grade students. I loved working in the schools because I had the opportunity to teach so many youth. We were able to offer the Baby Think it Over Program, a nationally recognized pregnancy prevention program, to hundreds of children each year.
After gaining my clinical license in 2006, I was promoted to Supervisor, and I began working with the Transitional Living Program for homeless families. This is an amazing program that can really change the lives of homeless families in the Greater Houston area. While our program is small, it is incredibly effective!
In 2009, I was offered the opportunity to also work with the No Kidding Program through a collaboration with the Texas Attorney General’s Office. This is an amazing program! I work with an amazing group of young parents on a daily basis! I thought that I would be at DePelchin Children's Center for “a few years.” I have been here for 13 and fully intend to be here much longer! What it boils down to is that I love the work that I do, and I love the people that I work with. I would not have been able to do the work that I do for 13 years if I didn’t have the support of my co-workers. We have great passion for the work that we do, and I really like working for DePelchin Children's Center."
